Enquiry form. Your name, company, email address, phone number (if you give it), the service you are interested in and anything you write in the message box.
Documents you upload or send. Subcontracts, payment applications, payment notices, pay less notices and related papers. These can include names, contact details and other information about people at your business and at the other party.
Correspondence. Emails, call notes and the advice and reports we produce for you.
This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.
To reply to your enquiry and quote a fee. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
To carry out the work you instruct. Lawful basis: performance of our contract with you. Where documents contain information about other people, we rely on our legitimate interest, and yours, in advising on and resolving the contract or payment issue.
To keep business, tax and accounting records. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
To deal with complaints or claims about our work. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in establishing, exercising or defending legal claims.
We do not use your information for marketing, and we do not sell it.
We use a small number of service providers to run this website and our files. They act on our instructions:
Netlify hosts this website and receives enquiry form submissions.
Dropbox receives and stores the documents you upload.
Our email provider carries messages to and from us.
Google Fonts supplies the typefaces on this site; your browser's IP address is sent to Google when the pages load.
With your agreement, we may share documents with others involved in your matter, such as your solicitor, an adjudicator or an adjudicator nominating body. We may also share information with our accountant or insurers, or where the law requires it.
Some of these providers store or process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.
Enquiries that do not lead to an instruction: 12 months from our last contact with you, including any documents you uploaded.
Client files: six years from the end of the work, which reflects the limitation period for contract claims and the period for which tax records must be kept.
After those periods the information is deleted.
You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, object to our use of it, and ask for it in a portable format. To do any of these, email us at the address above. We will reply within one month.
